GRADUATE CREDITS
FORMAT
GRADE LEVEL
Focus on the importance of emotional intelligence (EI) and social and emotional learning (SEL), including the use of literature! You will learn how to assess SEL and EI through a newly designed assessment routine, then use assessment results to plan the “next right” instructional step. Explore SEL through the lenses of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and create your own list of literature to disrupt bias, stereotypes, and prejudice of traditionally marginalized groups. Plan a lesson to include a children’s book to teach a non-academic concept. This course will provide you with an impactful new vision for using literature to teach!
