Today’s educators are navigating increasingly complex classroom needs, including student disengagement, dysregulation, and behavior challenges that can affect learning for everyone in the room. In this course, participants will explore how a positive classroom climate can serve as a proactive foundation for behavior support, student engagement, and meaningful relationship-building. This course examines practical approaches that help students feel safe, valued, connected, and motivated to learn. Rather than presenting classroom climate as a separate initiative or one more item to add to an already full plate, this course emphasizes small, repeatable practices that can be woven into everyday routines and interactions. Participants will reflect on current strengths in areas such as relationship-building, investigate practical strategies for belonging, motivation, and educator well-being, and apply new learning to their own classroom or professional setting. Some ideas may affirm practices educators already use successfully, while others may introduce new possibilities or help sharpen areas that need greater attention. When combined intentionally, these foundational strategies can help educators create a classroom climate that supports student behavior, strengthens community, and renews purpose for both teachers and students.
