Support for Multilingual Learners | Teaching Channel

Professional Development is intended to fulfill requirements for license renewal and recertification when the student has obtained proper prior approval. Please verify with your state licensing board that Teaching Channel professional development will meet your needs.

Multilingual learners (MLL’s) bring fresh perspectives and knowledge to our classrooms and school communities. This course will explore ways to support them through an understanding of stages of language acquisition, academic language, and scaffolding techniques. Participants will also learn strategies for fostering engagement with MLLs' families to enhance language learning outcomes.

Educators will have 12 months, from the date of registration, to complete the course. Upon completion, you will receive a Teaching Channel Letter of Completion for 3 clock hours (university graduate credit/transcript is not available). This online course is priced at $25 (no additional discounts are available).

This course is also offered in an expanded 10-hour format (PD157_24: Impactful Instructional Strategies for MLLs). The content is similar across formats, so we recommend selecting either the 10-hour or 3-hour version to best suit your needs.
