As educators, we're always looking for effective ways to engage multilingual learners (MLLs) as they acquire a new language. This course examines the potential of digital games as powerful tools for language instruction. You'll understand the advantages of game-based learning, develop a framework for selecting and integrating games into your curriculum, and discover how they can boost language acquisition while making the learning process fun and engaging. We'll explore real-world examples of game-based strategies, templates, and activities currently used in MLL classrooms. You’ll even design a game focused on a MLL skill or objective, and ensure an equitable, accessible, and inclusive learning experience. By the end, you'll be equipped to level up your teaching skills and create an exciting, interactive learning environment where MLLs thrive.
