From curb cuts to assistive technology, when we advocate for students who are differently abled, everybody benefits. Learn the history of disability advocacy from the Gang of 19 to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and be reminded of the importance of equity and accessibility for all. Design a checklist to audit your curriculum for inclusion, learn about Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and tour an abundance of assistive technology tools designed to break down learning barriers. Explore the diversity of disability, strategies for disability allyship, and the beauty of disability pride. Together with the disability community, we can work toward awareness, recognition, and dignity. Designed for anyone who works with students of any age, in any capacity.
