While we all use our senses as we move through the world, for some, those senses can inhibit or distract from fully engaging with school and life.  Explore the impact of sensory processing differences on student behavior and learning in this course. Learn to identify signs of sensory overload, under-responsiveness, and other sensory processing differences in students through the learning opportunities. Deepen your understanding of sensory processing by examining how it influences various aspects of a student's school experience. Gain effective tools and techniques for addressing sensory challenges and supporting student regulon and engagement. Discover how to create an inclusive classroom environment for all students, and learn how to effectively collaborate with families, therapists, and other professionals to support students' sensory needs and promote their success. This course, for general education and special education teachers, school nurses, school counselors, and other support staff, will empower you to create a more inclusive and supportive learning environment with sensory processing in mind.


This course is organized into 10 modules, each building on the previous one, allowing you to explore essential ideas in smaller, more focused segments.
