This course provides a comprehensive overview of the Science of Reading, a research-backed approach to reading instruction. You'll explore each of the key components of the Big Five, unpack Scarborough's Rope, and understand what the “simple view” of literacy is all about. You'll gain a deeper understanding of how children learn to read and develop the skills to implement effective, evidence-based literacy practices.

Educators will have 12 months, from the date of registration, to complete the course. Upon completion, you will receive a Teaching Channel Letter of Completion for 10 clock hours (university graduate credit/transcript is not available).
