Professional Development is intended to fulfill requirements for license renewal and recertification when the student has obtained proper prior approval. Please verify with your state licensing board that Teaching Channel professional development will meet your needs.

This course examines the fundamentals of reading development through the lens of the Science of Reading. Become familiar with Scarborough's Reading Rope framework and explore specific, research-aligned instructional strategies for each strand. Gain a deeper understanding of the science behind reading along with practical tools to enhance your literacy instruction.

Educators will have 12 months, from the date of registration, to complete the course. Upon completion, you will receive a Teaching Channel Letter of Completion for 10 clock hours (university graduate credit/transcript is not available). This online course is priced at $99 (no additional discounts are available).

This course is also offered in a concise 3-hour format (PD110_24: Foundations of The Science of Reading). The content is similar across formats, so we recommend selecting either the 10-hour or 3-hour version to best suit your needs.
