This 3-hour course provides participants with foundational knowledge of common methods used in U.S. schools today. It allows for in-depth learning about classroom management through a variety of curated resources and journaling prompts. The course includes an optional third topic about special education in U.S. schools. Additional optional activities, discussions, and reflections encourage direct application to professional practice through participant placement in U.S. schools.


Learning Objectives:
  • Build an understanding of U.S. schools, teacher expectations, and commonly used professional practices.
  • Develop notes during review of content to later apply methods and strategies in a U.S. school experience.
  • Deepen knowledge around classroom management and/or special education.
  • Apply learning to professional practice through lesson, activity, or interview planning.

 

This course is not available for graduate, continuing education credit. A Letter of Completion will be provided upon successful completion of the course.
